Bradley Webster, MD, PhD, enjoys knowing each day will be different in his practice with the Department of Urology and the Department of Cell Stress Biology at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.
In addition to seeing patients dealing with prostate and kidney cancer, Dr. Webster is focused on his research, specifically into the metabolism and post-translational modifications of clear cell renal carcinomas.
“The ultimate goal is to find a drug, a new targeted therapy, for these specific subtypes of renal cell carcinoma. Each subtype behaves different in its aggressive nature, the changes in metabolism. I find metabolic changes in cancer in general fascinating.”
In addition to advances in personalized medicine and improvements in the sensitivity of robots used in surgery, Dr. Webster is enthusiastic about his close collaboration with his new colleagues at Roswell Park. “The research environment is fantastic and conducive to making great strides. It’s a huge advantage,” he says.
